The Race

Born from a Love of the Mice

The idea for this race stemmed from discussions about organizing a race in our area and having it be a fundraiser. All proceeds go directly to Penticton Search and Rescue, a dedicated group of volunteers that are vital to our outdoor community.

This race takes place in the Three Blind Mice trail network, just outside of Penticton — a special place for many who play in the outdoors. The trails are amazing thanks to PACA and their stewardship. It's all single track: some quite technical, some beautifully flowy.

Your race organizers are five friends with loads of trail running experience. Our goals are to show off the trails of the Mice and to ensure that each runner has a genuinely fun and rewarding experience.

The Course

All Single Track. All the Way.

Both races start and finish at the parking lot on Poplar Grove Road. After a quick 500m on the KVR, runners head up Riddle Road to the Mice. All runners complete the first loop via Southern Dancer, Bronco, Rainbow, Neverland, and Narnia. 50K runners then head back out into the Mice for a second, epic loop.

Parking

Parking for the race will take place at D'Angelo Estate Winery at 979 Lochore Road. This is a 1km walk from the start/finish area. We hope you can show your support for this local business by visiting their tasting room at the end of your day.

On race day, we recommend driving to the start/finish area and checking in before you go and park your car.

Please do not park your car at the start/finish area. The City of Penticton has asked us to ensure that the limited parking spaces are available for the general public to use. In addition, do not park on Riddle Road. This road is very narrow and we need it to be clear in case of emergency.

Drop Bags

50K runners may bring one small drop bag, which will be transported to the Pearly Gates aid station.

Post-Race Party

Celebrate your race with pizza and drinks at Abandoned Rail Brewing. Each runner will be given a voucher to use for a personal sized pizza and a beverage of their choice. Be sure to bring your family and friends.

Race Rules

Keep It Clean, Keep It Fun

Be kind to your fellow racers and volunteers. Please stop to help anyone who needs it.
Bibs must be visible at all times. Check in at each aid station — volunteers are tracking your progress.
Stay on marked trails. No cutting switchbacks.
Runners may only receive aid at designated aid stations.
Headphones are discouraged for your safety. You may encounter wildlife — or mountain bikers.
No pacers.
No dogs.
Only registered runners may participate. No bib transfers.
Don't litter. Common sense.
If you are unable to finish, please notify an aid station captain or official at the start/finish. Otherwise we will send people to look for you.
Please respect the cut-offs. You may be asked to withdraw if we feel you cannot finish in time.

This race runs on community spirit. Volunteer shifts range from a couple of hours in the morning to a full day at an aid station. We'd love your help.

Policies

Transfers & Cancellations

Changing Distances

Runners may switch distances up to the day before the race. Moving from 25K to 50K requires payment of the difference. No partial refunds for moving from 50K to 25K.

Runner Cancellations

No refunds will be issued. The good news: your registration fees went to a good cause — Penticton Search and Rescue.

Race Cancellation

If we need to cancel due to weather or other circumstances, registered participants will receive a 50% credit toward a future race. We hope to make this an annual event.
